Seraphine was founded 5 years ago by the Parisian stylist Cecile Reinaud. She stepped into the maternity wear scene in 2001 and opened her first London boutique in Notting Hill. The first Seraphine maternity wear collection received raving reviews by the fashion press and the yummy mummies of London as well as many high profile celebrities. In 2003 to answer the huge customer demand for a mail order service, Seraphine maternity launched it’s online store. Today the Seraphine brand is distributed in the prestigious department stores Galleries Lafayette in Paris and in most major cities in France. The second London store opened in 2006 in Hampstead and more are due to open in the next two years.
The brand ethos is to offer pregnant women clothes that look so good that you would want to wear them even if you were not pregnant. Trendy, well cut and with a classic touch of Parisian chic the Seraphine maternity collection captures the essence of being stylish with a bump. Cecile, who has a 3 year old boy , designed her award wining Seraphine jeans whilst she was pregnant: “going through the journey of pregnancy reinforced my vision to design clothes that stay true to your pre-pregnancy style. I put a huge emphasis on the quality of the fabrics I use so that my clothes are as comfortable as they are beautiful. ”
As one of the market leader in maternity wear in Europe Seraphine maternity wear is strongly committed to contribute in every possible way to the well-being of mothers and their babies. We are proud to have raised over £50,000 so far for the Baby charity Tommys which is dedicated to prevent miscarriage and birth defect. Seraphine is also actively working to reduce it’s environmental impact to preserve our planet for the next generation and takes every possible step to reduce it’s carbon footprint.
